Back in 1961, Robert Redford took a wrong turn on his motorcycle and stumbled into a canyon. He fell in love with it, eventually bought the land and named it after the Sundance Kid. Sundance Mountain Resort turned into a hideout for artists, skiers and everyone in between. You won't find crowds or lift lines here. Just really good snow and a price point FAR below the slopes next door.
And this year, it all got a huge upgrade. There's a brand new Inn at Sundance Mountain Resort at the base of the lift, a new signature run and a new high-speed quad opening this winter with 165 more acres of terrain. Same Sundance, same vibe, still protected, with so much more to sell.
The Inn has 63 rooms and suites at the base of the mountain, and in winter it's true ski-in/ski-out, with the Outlaw Express lift just steps from the front door. Hand your skis off to the Ski Valet on the way in, then trade boots for slippers in the Boot Room. It has the ease of a private chalet, but fully serviced.
Mornings start with a complimentary European-style breakfast in the Living Room, which doubles as the Inn's gathering space, with a fireplace, card games, light nibbles. Rooms look onto Mount Timpanogos, the canyon ridgeline or the North Fork Creek running right through the property. Each stay includes access to The Springs, the resort's outdoor soaking pools and sauna complex, plus the fitness center and daily yoga.

The mountain isgetting bigger, better, and faster. Electric Horseman, a new high-speed quad lift, will make its debut this season and is about to change how the whole resort runs. Just a six-minute ride to the top, 1,850 vertical feet per lap and full back-mountain access on a single lift. Parking lot to summit is now two lifts.
The terrain expansion also comes with a headliner: Storyteller is a new signature ridgeline run with an upper-intermediate groomer, sweeping turns and some of the best views on the mountain. Carved from what used to be the Far East Ridgeline and named for the stories that built the mountain, it's the run everyone will be talking about.
